I actually went to work at the barber shop on March 20th and that night basically all hell broke loose.
I had COVID, it was not a pretty picture. I mean you cannot breathe…you really can't breathe. I was sick for almost a month, 15 days of a fever that would not go away.
As you can see, I made it, but not everybody is so lucky. Now I still have a little breathing problem and I don’t have my taste buds back.
I was home because there was not even a hospital bed during that time. My grandchildren live upstairs. They stayed away for a month. That was the toughest thing for my grandsons. You could imagine, you know, children not being able to go to school and being isolated where they can't even go out and see their friends. And now they can't see their grandmother, their favorite grandmother.
Yeah, that's right. I'm their favorite. It was tough on them. You can just imagine. And then the fear, you know, there was a lot of fear.
So just put your trust in God. I'm not going to get spiritual, but I believe that my Lord blessed me with this shop and I believe we are going to be here. I signed a 10 year lease. So I'm hoping for that.
