I worry about the world as a whole. I think it'll be a long time for the suspicion and the fear of other people's physical presence to wear off. I don't think it does our social bonds any good. I think they are strained anyway for all kinds of reasons and the social fabric is going to be stretched even thinner than it was before.
Even if we're released from our isolation officially by the government, that doesn't mean that it can't come back. Even if this gets solved, we’re going to still be afraid. There’s a fragility to our social structure and it’s a shock to realize how fragile it is. How fragile the economy is. How fragile our social bonds are. How easily the whole thing can fall apart. This may be just a trial run. That’s what people are afraid of. That’s something I’m afraid of.
